Launching our new #FreeTheShoulders three part podcast.
Bullying affects too many young people, and too often the conversation stops at awareness. Our new podcast dives into topics around understanding anti-bullying, the impact of bullying behaviours and how we can all become Upstanders.
We are joined by students and teachers across three schools, who share their personal insights and advice. Thank you to James Young High School (Scotland), Shireland Biomedical UTC (Birmingham) and Orion Spires (Kent), and our host Juliana Lax, Psychoeducation Specialist.
Tune into our conversation, available on all major podcast platforms. Listen to the full episodes below.
One of three teenagers are bullied and those with dandruff are twice as likely to be among them. Dandruff is a completely normal skin-condition that affects one in two of us, and it is treatable, yet just like so many other things, because of misconceptions and stigma it is a source of bullying. From research we know that bullying can have lifelong impact on mental health. No matter the reason, bullying should never be accepted.
In 2021, we launched #FreeTheShoulders, a campaign aiming to educate one million young people, parents and adults on how to fight all forms of bullying, including dandruff related bullying. Join us as we continue the fifth year of this campaign, and help us in the fight against bullying. This campaign provides dedicated resources focused on appearance-based bullying behaviours.

Head & Shoulders has joined forces with Anti-Bullying from The Diana Award.
"We are proud to partner with The Diana Award and support the incredible work of its Anti-Bullying Ambassadors empowering young people to create kinder, safer school communities. At Head & Shoulders we believe everyone should feel confident to be themselves – free from judgement or stigma. Our Free the Shoulders campaign aims to tackle appearance-based bullying linked to dandruff - so young people can feel confident, supported, and free to be themselves, on the inside and out."
