This resource is a calendar which includes various cultural awareness celebrations throughout the year for the WHOLE SCHOOL COMMUNITY to get involved. It is suitable for young people of all ages, educators, and parents/carers. The calendar is a helpful starting point to spotlight different cultures, ethnicities, and religions – especially ones you may be less familiar with. There are also suggestions to celebrate or raise awareness for some of these days if you get stuck, but you can think of your own ideas too. Building a community that wants to connect and understand others that may be different to ourselves shows how powerful cultural diversity, inclusion and RESPECT can be.
